housing instability is too high
We support organizations working to address homelessness
Housing is a fundamental need, but the number of people experiencing homelessness and housing instability in Massachusetts remains high. HUD's 2019 Annual Homeless Assessment reports 18,471 people in Massachusetts were counted as experiencing homelessness, including 12,212 people in families with children, 6,259 adults over age 24 in households without children, and 917 people were identified as veterans. There are many root causes of housing instability but accessibility should not be one of them.
Highland Partners invests in some of Boston's best known organizations committed to supporting children and adults in need of housing, from temporary to permanent situations, for women and children and for our veterans in need.
